Services

The Consumer Directed Services (CDS) Program provides assistance to individuals with disabilities who are 18 years of age or older and are able to self-direct their own care. Consumers are responsible for hiring and managing their attendant to assist them with ADLS such as:

  • bathing
  • dressing
  • personal hygiene
  • toileting
  • meal preparation
  • housekeeping
  • and medication setup and reminder

A family member or friend can get paid for taking care of the consumer, with the exception of a spouse. The consumer will recruit, choose, hire, train, and manage their attendant; therefore they're considered the employer.
